Merino wool is the finest, purest wool in the world. Compared to traditional wool, Merino fibres are a fraction of the diameter - one of the reasons that our Gorgi Merino Blankets don't itch, whereas the large scales on traditional wool act like barbs against sensitive skin. Merino Wool feels silky and soft and is the most luxurious of wool yarns. 

Merino Sheep live at high altitudes and have developed fleece that protects against scorching summers and harsh, freezing winters. The incredibly fine merino fibres used in our Gorgi Merino Blankets are unlike man made fibres, our Merino Blankets ‘breathe’, are naturally resistant to flame, dirt and creasing.
