Nikki Apse is an artist, designer and art director living near Arrowtown in the Wakatipu.
Graduating with a double degree in Arts and Commerce from the University of Otago in 1997, Nikki has worked as a designer and art director on a diverse collection of international and local brands. She has exhibited her paintings and works on paper at galleries including Waiheke Art Gallery and Momentum Gallery in Auckland where she is one of their most sought after artists. In 2010, Vero included one of the works from her ‘Topography’ series in their calender of emerging contemporary New Zealand artists.
She is also passionate about the application of design and aesthetics to objects of function and everyday use. Her work has featured in various publications.
Alongside her fine art, she runs her own design company – Craft, specialising in brand design and art direction, and collaborates with husband, professional photographer Julian Apse, on various creative interests including Union & Co – photography, bespoke design and art direction for events, weddings and portraits. |
