Thread Count

Thread count is simply the number of threads per square inch of fabric. In a quality product, the incremental comfort value of thread counts over 300 is very little. A 300 thread count sheet can feel far superior to a 1000 thread count sheet. Thread count has become a simple number used by marketing people to capture interest and impress with high numbers.

High thread count doesn't mean much if the threads being counted aren't high quality. Actually, the quality of cotton sheets depends on several factors, including fiber quality, yarn size, finishing, thread count and construction.

A fabric with a thread count of 200 high-quality fibers can have a better hand, or feeling to the touch, than a thread count of 400 inferior-quality fibers or twisted threads.

At Gorgi we keep it simple, all our sheets are manufactured using the same 300 Thread Count White Cotton Percale, we have being using the same cotton sheeting for five years, we have tested it, we sleep in it,  our customers  have tested it, they tell us they love it, how do we know - they tell us, but better than that, they buy again and again. No better testimonial than that!

Product Care

All of our products are manufactured with care labels attached. We have listed wash instructions below in case there is a requirement for further information. Should you have any questions or require further information regarding the care and upkeep of our product please do not hesitate to call or email us directly.

Striped and Plain Drill Duvet Cover Care
  • Your cotton duvet cover can be washed in a domestic washing machine on a cool wash setting.
  • Do not use fabric softeners or whiteners with any Gorgi products.
  • Do not leave your duvet cover to sit wet in the washing machine for extended periods, hang on the line to dry out of direct sunlight as soon as it has completed it's wash cycle.
  • We do not recommend the use of tumble dryers for duvet covers or large bulky items, line drying is the preferred option.

100% Linen Duvet Cover/Pillowcase Care
  • We recommend hand-washing your linen separately - or machine wash using a gentle wash agent (NO FABRIC SOFTENERS), wash on a hand-wash cycle with cool/cold temperature setting. Use the rinse cycle if there's one available.
  • We do not recommend tumble drying your linen pillowcases, simply dry flat out of direct sunlight.

100% White Cotton Percale Pillowcases and Sheet Care

All of our white cotton percale flat sheets and pillowcases are easy care and launder beautifully.

  • Cold wash and hang to dry, fold whilst still slightly damp and air in airing cupboard.
  • Do not use fabric softeners or whitening agents.
  • Iron cuff if required with cotton setting on iron.
  • Do not over-dry your sheets or pillowcases in a tumble dryer on high heat, this will result in permanent pressing your products and you will have to rewash, remember cotton is a natural fibre and as with all natural fibres they will react adversely to high temperatures.
