Penny Stotter graduated from Ilam School of Fine Arts in 1995, majoring in graphic design. In 2006 she won the inaugural Estuary Artworks Award which was the catalyst in her moving to Waiheke to pursue a career as a full time artist. She has also been a finalist in the New Zealand Best Awards and New York Festivals awards.
Stotter’s 11 year career in the graphic design industry has been particularly influentional in her style of work. She uses an interesting mix of new technology and traditional methods in creating her screen prints which are inspired by her environment and ‘found’ objects such as spoons and chairs.
